Das halbe Leben

Work is half of life - or so it’s said. Amelie, Bella, Heike, Klaus and Uli are five from almost five million currently unemployed in Germany. But Thomas Heinle, an unconventional job hunting coach, wants to help the five change their attitude to life in general. Director Mechthild Gassner documented this process with her camera over a period of nine months, creating moving portraits of the protagonists. This is Gassner’s first full-length film.
