My Father the Genius

In the 70s, architect Glen Howard Small propagated his designs for »biomorphic biospheres«, futuristic living spaces meant to be the salvation of humankind. Career and family were sacrificed at the altar of his vision. On the brink of human and financial bankruptcy, the thwarted genius asked his daughter to make this film biography. Lucia Small gives us a very personal portrait of a highly gifted but socially incompetent egocentric, doomed - both professionally and as a father - to ultimate failure. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Slamdance Festival 2002.
