Dachau by Munich is known around the world for its namesake, the former Nazi concentration camp. Today, in the shadow of the memorial museum, dachauers have but one desire: normalcy. With moving defiance, locals attempt to present a unified, politically correct profile of a town amid traditional festivals, a tourism offensive, and a police training center housed in former SS headquarters. Bernd Fischer studied cinematography at the HFF »Konrad Wolf«. His directorial debut gives an ironic and at times somewhat vicious tale of life in his hometown.
