German genre cinema is alive and kicking! Bruno, a doctor from Cologne, loses his licence but continues to practice illegally. After he treats a gangster suffering from leukaemia, he gets caught between two rival crime syndicates. Denis Moschitto and Daniel Rakete Siegel spent eight years working on SCHOCK. The pitch-black crime thriller takes place in dark backrooms, sleazy brothels and moving cars – and practically always at night. Harsh neon lights and deep shadows create an impressive atmosphere.
