This touching and visually powerful animated film tells of survival in the First Gulf War from a child’s point of view. In 1980, the centre of Iranian oil production is under Iraqi occupation. Many have fled the city of Abadan, but 14-year-old Omid has stayed with his grandfather. He is waiting for his older brother to return from the front. On his wanderings, the boy meets people who, like him, have reasons to hold out. When Omid discovers an old barge in the harbour, he wants to turn it into an ark to save them all.
