THE GOLDMAN CASE

It was a trial that kept France on tenterhooks: in 1976, author and left-wing activist Pierre Goldman proudly admitted in court to having committed several armed robberies, but refused to take responsibility for two murders. With Simone Signoret and Jean-Paul Sartre in the audience, the son of Jewish Résistance fighters turned the tables on a corrupt and unjust police and judiciary. Cédric Kahn films the story as a breathless courtroom drama with a dazzlingly charismatic performance by Arieh Worthaler in the title role.
