You wouldn't expect a romantic comedy from director Claire Denis. But with UN BEAU SOLEIL INTÉRIEUR - last year's winner of the Cologne Film Award comes very close to this genre – of course ditching the usual sentimentalities as well as the wedding at the end. Juliette Binoche stars as divorced artist Isabelle, jumping from affair to affair but never finding the right man. That's not only the fault of her lovers: Even past fifty, Isabelle doesn't know what she wants from her love life. The dialogue from French scandal author Christine Angot (INZEST) is both biting and funny, it even features Gérard Depardieu in an unexpected cameo.
