Michael Glawogger (WORKINGMAN’S DEATH) once stated that always trying to anticipate any misfortune and adapting to it means the death of freedom. He wrote this in a journal entry which turned into a voice-over in UNTITLED. For his urge of freedom, the Austrian filmmaker has paid with his life. In spring of 2014 he died, aged only 54, in Liberia from Malaria, while shooting his latest documentary feature. He was in the process of travelling around the world for a year with his camera, without following any thematic preconception. The resulting material has been now assembled and combined with entries from his travel journal by Glawogger's editor Monika Willi as a picturesque requiem for one of Europe's most fearless and idiosyncratic filmmakers.
