RYŪICHI SAKAMOTO | OPUS

In March of this year, composer and pianist Ryūichi Sakamoto passed away after a long battle with cancer. He had been lacking the strength to give concerts for years. At the end of 2022, he nevertheless sat down at the grand piano for one last performance for this documentary film directed by his son Neo Sora. He plays 20 pieces that cover his entire career, from his days as a pop star in the group Yellow Magic Orchestra to his famous film scores for the likes of Bernardo Bertolucci right up to his last album “12”. A touching farewell.
