What do albums like Kraftwerk's „Autobahn“, The Eurythmics' „In the Garden“ or Gianna Nannini's „Latin Lover“ have in common? They were all recorded in Conny Plank's studio in the small town of Wolperath, close to Cologne. The sound engineer and producer, who died in 1987, was one of the most influential figures of 70s Krautrock and a tireless experimenter of sound. His microphones have recorded everyone: Jazz legend Duke Ellington, German New Wave stars Ideal, or rappers like Whodini. Now his son Stephan, together with director Reto Caduff, has finally given him the cinematic monument he deserves. And in Conny's honour they all return to his microphones – and in front of the camera: Dave Stuart of The Eurythmics, the Scorpions, DAF and Ultravox.
