ifs Writers' Pitch & The Degeto "Impuls" Award 2017

»There is no point in having sharp images when you have fuzzy ideas« Jean-Luc Godard said. Screenwriters create images – for the TV screen or the silver screen. Students and alumni of the ifs internationale filmschule köln showcase their current material. The writers spent the last months scrutinizing, discarding, revising, and sharpening their characters, themes, and stylistic ideas. Now they are looking for creative partners to help turn their ideas into images. As part of the ifs writers' pitch, the “Impuls” prize for story development will also be awarded by ARD Degeto. Every year, those who study screenwriting at a German film school are eligible to win the award for young talents which is meant to inspire the creative story ideas of up-and-coming members of the German film industry. This year, eight screenplay students of the ifs internationale filmschule köln will compete for the award. The winner will receive a treatment contract worth € 7,500 for the broadcasting slot “Endlich Freitag im Ersten” (Finally Friday on ARD) to pitch a story directly there.
