PERSECUTED – THE SEVEN LIVES OF DANY DATTEL

What a life! Dany Dattel is one of the very few Jewish children to survive Auschwitz. After a childhood surrounded by death and horror, he works his way back into life, becomes a prominent foreign exchange trader at a private bank in Cologne – but when the bank goes under, he once again is hunted and locked away. Director Christian Twente and author Christel Fomm take their aged protagonist back to his old places of suffering, creating a sombre documentary about anti-Semitism during and after the Nazi era – but also a portrait of an unconditional will to live.
