Over the last few decades Germany and Israel have become more and more culturally diverse due to migration and demographic changes. How do young Israeli and German filmmakers look upon the multicultural reality of the other country and how does this gaze reflect their own concepts of identity, homeland and belonging? With support of ifs students the Beit Berl students explore multi-ethnic cohabitation in Germany after the “refugee wave” of 2015 while ifs students together with their Beit Berl colleagues approach the ambivalence of Israeli society in Tel Aviv and Akka.
