Shrek is an ogre, a green monster who lives alone in a swamp. He is shunned by his contemporaries. But that all changes when Lord Farquaad drives all the mythical creatures from his land and they seek refuge in Shrek's swamp of all places. Shrek, who wants his peace and quiet back, makes a deal with the lord: if he manages to free the beautiful Princess Fiona from the clutches of a dragon, the ogre can have his swamp all to himself again.
