While Eve devotes herself to literature in Tangier, Adam is a well-known rock musician in Detroit. They quench their thirst for blood in other ways, so they could do without biting humans. As Adam becomes increasingly melancholy, Eve seeks him out in Detroit. Eve's sister Ava also turns up, causing chaos and turning Adam and Eve's vampire lives upside down.
